Justinas "jL" Lekavicius's first match for Vitality — standing in for William "mezii" Merriman, who is on paternity leave — ended in a 0-2 Opening Round loss to Inner Circle, the tournament's first genuine upset. Vitality steadied themselves with a clean 2-0 over 9z in the Lower Round to survive, but a second loss now would send the No. 4 team in the world home without a single win over a group-stage opponent ranked outside the top 30. That result would sit awkwardly next to the recent news that apEX and ZywOo just signed contract extensions with the organization through 2028 — a long-term bet the roster will need to justify results-wise sooner rather than later.
Legacy's Roster Drama Resolved Itself
Legacy spent part of the off-season benching Vinicius "n1ssim" Pereira and reportedly scouting replacements, including Felipe "insani" Yuji and Tomas "tomaszin" Corna — before n1ssim signaled his intention to return and both talks were dropped. The team also brought in Santino "try" Rigal as a new AWP option after Guilherme "saadzin" Pacheco moved to Imperial on loan. That settled lineup opened Porto by beating FUT 2-0, with Bruno "latto" Rebelatto closing the series with an ace, before falling 1-2 to Falcons in the Upper Semis.

Vitality lead the all-time head-to-head, but every meeting on record is from 2025 — IEM Dallas and the BLAST.tv Austin Major in the first half of the year, then BLAST Bounty 2025 Season 2 that August. Vitality won three of those four series. None of it is a clean guide to this match: Vitality field jL in place of mezii, and Legacy have gone through their own in-and-out roster process with n1ssim and try since. This is closer to a first meeting between these two current lineups than a rematch of last year's series.
