The Team That Beat Vitality
Inner Circle's Opening Round win over Vitality — 2-0, on the day Justinas "jL" Lekavicius made his Vitality debut standing in for mezii — remains the headline result of Group B so far. Ranked No. 34 against the tournament's No. 4 seed, Inner Circle showed they can win a best-of-three against elite opposition. What followed was a reality check: a straight 0-2 loss to MOUZ in the Upper Semis. This Lower Round match is the chance to prove the Vitality result was a genuine level, not a single outlier.
FUT Bets on Continuity After One Big Swap
FUT made one significant change this summer, benching lauNX for Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç from HEROIC on July 7 — since then, the org has moved the other direction, extending the contracts of dem0n, coolio and dziugss rather than making further swaps. Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov, the team's MVP at PGL Bucharest 2026 earlier this year, remains its most proven big-stage performer. That stability hasn't translated into a clean run through Porto's group stage, though — FUT opened with a 0-2 loss to Legacy (Bruno "latto" Rebelatto closing it out with an ace, per HLTV's own recap) before beating Lynn Vision 2-1 to survive into the Lower Round.
A Lopsided History Despite the Ranking Gap
Despite FUT now sitting at No. 6 in the world against Inner Circle's No. 34, this is a genuinely deep rivalry — the two have met repeatedly on the qualifier and smaller-LAN circuit since November 2025, from Digital Crusade DraculaN Season 3 through DreamHack Knockout Stockholm and Galaxy Battle 2025, right up to PGL Bucharest 2026 in April. FUT has won every one of those series. It's rare for two teams at such different points in the rankings to have this much shared history — Inner Circle knows this opponent well, even if the results haven't gone their way yet.
What's on the Line
The loser is eliminated from BLAST Open Porto 2026 outright. The winner advances to Group B's Lower Final on August 31 against whoever comes out of Vitality vs. Legacy, the group's other Lower Round 2 match — with Group B's third playoff spot in Porto on the line for whichever team wins that.
