Aurora vs DENDELE — BLAST Open Porto 2026, Group A Lower Round 1, August 28

Aurora and DENDELE meet in Group A's lower bracket at BLAST Open Porto 2026 on August 28 — both teams coming off Opening Round losses, Aurora 0-2 to G2, DENDELE 0-2 to Spirit. Neither team has played the other before.

What makes this match different from the Upper Semis matchups played the same day is simple: whoever loses here is out of the tournament completely.

No Second Chance

BLAST Open Porto's group stage is double-elimination, but Lower Round 1 is where that safety net runs out for the Opening Round's losers. Win, and you get a second life in Lower Round 2 against whoever falls out of the Upper Semis. Lose here, and there's no Lower Round 2, no Lower Final, no path back — the tournament is over.

kyxsan's Honest Read

Aurora's loss to G2 included a nine-round collapse on Anubis, and IGL kyxsan didn't soften his assessment of it afterward: "I feel like we gave away too many entry kills, so almost every round feels like it's 4v5, and it was a bit hard to play because of that. Usually it doesn't happen in practice."

The bigger frustration, in his own words, is consistency: "In practice I see different team, different players, different ideas, different people. We just behave differently in practice, and that's one thing that's annoying me right now." Aurora's current five has been together for less than two months. This match is the next real data point on whether that's closing up or still open.

DENDELE's Own Path Here

DENDELE arrive with a shorter, quieter story of their own. The org competed as Sharks Esports until a rebrand on July 20 under a partnership with the Kings League Brazil team DENDELE FC. A clean loss to the reigning Esports World Cup champions in the opener isn't much to read into — DENDELE's more meaningful recent result is an upset win over FURIA earlier this year, proof this roster can beat opponents ranked well above it when things go their way.
