History
The History of Karambit Skins
The Karambit is a curved, reverse-grip knife modeled after the Indonesian fighting blade of the same name, one of CS2's most recognizable knife shapes. There are 35 Karambit skins on the site.
From Arms Deal to today
Weapon skins were introduced to Counter-Strike with CS:GO's Arms Deal update in August 2013, which brought Cases, the Steam Community Market, and the first tradable weapon finishes to the game. The earliest Karambit finish with a confirmed release date tracked on CS2Owl is Karambit from Revolver, released on December 8, 2015. Since then, the Karambit skin lineup has grown to 35 skins, with 35 available in StatTrak™ versions and none currently available as a Souvenir edition.
Simple finishes to complex designs
Early finishes were plain, single-pattern designs. Later Cases introduced layered, custom-illustrated artwork and textured finishes, expanding what a weapon skin could look like well beyond a solid color or simple camo.
When Valve relaunched the game as Counter-Strike 2 on September 27, 2023, every existing Karambit finish carried over unchanged onto the new engine, and new finishes have kept releasing through CS2's own Cases and Collections since.
