HEROIC vs. B8 at IEM Beijing 2026:Two Qualifiers,One Upper-Bracket Spot
Two of the three qualifier teams in Beijing meet in the opening round — so one of them is guaranteed a place in Group A's upper-bracket semi-finals.
Only three of the sixteen teams in Beijing came through qualifiers, and two of them meet in the opening round. HEROIC and B8 both won their way in through the closed qualifier, so whichever way this goes, one qualifier team will be in Group A's upper-bracket semi-finals.

Two Rankings, Almost Level
On paper this is the closest match of the round. B8 sit 22nd in the HLTV World Ranking, HEROIC 24th. The two teams have also been built very differently. B8 have played with the same five for eight months, with alex666 calling and s1zzi on the AWP. HEROIC added Brollan and MartinezSa about three months ago, around in-game leader Chr1zN, susp and nilo.
HEROIC's Results Against the Second Tier
HEROIC's recent results come mostly from second-tier events, and they have mostly been good ones. At Stake Pulse Beat III they beat 100 Thieves, fnatic, BC.Game and Envy before losing to Ninjas in Pyjamas. DraculaN Season 7 ended earlier, with 1-2 losses to FaZe and SINNERS before the final four. Beijing is a step up in level, and the closed qualifier is the strongest result the new lineup has to show so far.
B8 Come Straight From Belgrade
B8 played the RLG Tesla Cup in Belgrade from October 27 to 29 and finished fourth: a 0-2 semi-final loss to eventual winners HOTU, then 0-2 against FaZe in the third-place match. Like several teams in Beijing, they have had little time between events.
A February Result With a Different HEROIC
The only 2026 meeting was at PGL Cluj-Napoca on February 15, a 2-0 for B8 (13-4 on Ancient, 13-9 on Nuke). B8 fielded the same five they bring to Beijing. HEROIC had only three of Monday's players, so that score is a weak guide.
Over the past three months, HEROIC have been strongest on Nuke (88% over eight maps) and Cache (77% over 13). B8's best maps are Ancient (67%) and Dust2 (58%). Anubis is unlikely to be played: HEROIC have banned it every time, B8 almost every time.
What's at Stake
The winner meets the winner of Legacy vs. The MongolZ in Group A's upper-bracket semi-finals. The loser drops into the lower bracket, where another defeat means a 13th–16th place finish.
