FURIA vs FaZe — IEM Beijing 2026, Group A Opening Round, November 2

FURIA play the PGL Masters Bucharest grand final against Nemiga on Saturday, October 31. On Monday morning, Central European time, they open IEM Beijing against FaZe, six time zones east. Few teams have been more in form this autumn, and the main question is how much that schedule takes out of them.

FURIA's Autumn

FURIA won the Thunderpick World Championship in October, beating BETBOOM 3-2 in the final, with KSCERATO named the event's MVP. In Bucharest they then beat BETBOOM again in the quarter-finals and MOUZ 2-1 in the semi-finals. This is a lineup that has stayed the same for a year and a half, with FalleN calling and molodoy on the AWP, and it is third in the world. Over the past three months, Inferno has been their best map: 82% over 11 maps.

Two Days, Two Events

Bucharest's final is on Saturday. Beijing's Group A opener against FaZe starts at 08:00 CET on Monday, 15:00 local time. That leaves roughly a day of travel and very little time to adjust. MOUZ are in a similar spot after their own third-place match in Bucharest. FaZe did not play there: they come from the RLG Tesla Cup in Belgrade, which ended on October 29.

FaZe Back on a Big Stage

FaZe's autumn has been about reaching the Singapore Major. HLTV reported back-to-back last-place finishes at FISSURE Playground 3 and Stake Ranked Episode 4. FaZe then won the Roman Imperium Cup IX, beat Envy and HEROIC at DraculaN Season 7, and finished third at the RLG Tesla Cup. HLTV's invite simulation now puts their Major chances at around 97%. Captain Twistzz told HLTV in Belgrade that he and frozen are trying to be better role models for the younger players. JBOEN, who joined four months ago, plays the AWP. broky is on the bench.

The One Meeting This Year

FaZe beat FURIA 2-1 at BLAST Rivals Season 1 on April 30, winning Nuke 13-3 and Dust2 13-4 around a FURIA win on Mirage. FURIA fielded the same five they bring to Beijing. FaZe had four of Monday's players, but JBOEN had not yet joined. Mirage is FaZe's strongest map over the past three months (88% over eight maps), and their Nuke is also strong at 73%.

What's at Stake

The winner meets the winner of Natus Vincere vs. Falcons in Group A's upper-bracket semi-finals. The loser drops into the lower bracket, where another defeat ends the event.
