In-Depth Guide

XM1014 | Solitude: The Complete Guide

Complete XM1014 | Solitude CS2 skin guide — explore its history, design, rarity, float range, collection, and availability.

History & Origin

XM1014 | Solitude released March 31, 2025, as part of the "Spring 2025 Skins" update — the second skin to rotate through Valve's "Limited Edition Item" set, about six months after Desert Eagle | Heat Treated launched the set alongside the Armory itself.

It's a Counter-Strike 2-native release, with no CS:GO history of its own. It shipped as a Restricted-tier finish with a Souvenir edition and no StatTrak™ version.

Design & Finish

As a finish, Solitude is applied to the XM1014 — a semi-automatic shotgun, faster-firing than the pump-action options — and carries the purple rarity color every Restricted-tier skin shares on the Steam Market and in-game. It's a Hydrographic finish: the weapon's disassembled parts are dipped through a floating film pattern on a water tank's surface, here applying a mountain-terrain camo across the shotgun.

That Restricted classification sits in the middle of the rarity ladder — rarer than Mil-Spec Grade, but short of the Classified and Covert tiers above it.

Wear & Float

Solitude ships in all five wear conditions, but its float is capped between 0.00 and 0.70 — narrower than the full 0.00–1.00 range some other skins allow, so even its roughest Battle-Scarred copies stop short of the heaviest wear the tier normally allows.

Factory New copies (below 0.07 float) show the mountain-terrain pattern at its cleanest, while Field-Tested and Well-Worn pieces make up the most commonly traded middle ground between mint and heavily worn.

Availability & Drop Mechanics

Solitude doesn't come from a Case or Collection you open — it was redeemed directly from the Armory's XP Shop for 25 stars, earned by playing with an active Armory Pass, while it was the currently-featured Limited Edition Item. Every other Armory collection instead costs 4 stars for a random skin from that collection's own pool; this set is the one exception where spending stars buys the specific, guaranteed featured skin, not a chance at one.

Once M4A1-S | Solitude rotated in behind it in August 2025, redeeming this one directly through the shop stopped being possible, leaving trading and the Steam Community Market as the way to acquire one today. There's no drop chance to publish for it at any point in that timeline — it was never drawn from a pool in the first place.

Versions & Variants

There's a Souvenir edition of Solitude alongside the Normal version — but no StatTrak™ counterpart exists for it.

There's no separate phase or pattern family beyond the finish itself — Solitude is a single fixed mountain-terrain design across every wear condition it ships in, with pattern index affecting placement rather than creating distinct variants.

Popularity & Community

Solitude shares its name, mountain-terrain pattern, and "Being alone is a privilege, not a burden" flavor text with M4A1-S | Solitude — the two form a matched pair across the shotgun and rifle, the set's own answer to a themed duo despite launching six months apart.

Without a StatTrak™ edition to chase, collector interest in the StatTrak direction doesn't apply here — the Souvenir edition is the one variant that trades at a premium over the Normal version.

Updates & Changes

Solitude's core definition hasn't changed since its March 2025 release — no rarity change, no reissue. Its one real transformation was structural rather than to the skin itself: once M4A1-S | Solitude rotated in behind it, direct XP Shop redemption closed for good, leaving the resale market as the only path to one from that point forward.

Trivia & Related Information

Solitude is one of two Hydrographic, mountain-terrain "Solitude"-finish skins in the Limited Edition Item set — M4A1-S | Solitude is its rifle-side counterpart, sharing the same pattern and flavor text. The set's other two entries (Desert Eagle | Heat Treated, AK-47 | Aphrodite) use unrelated Case Hardening and Gunsmith finishes instead.

This is one of 45 XM1014 skins currently listed on the site, spanning multiple rarity tiers.
