UMP-45 | Mechanism released September 22, 2021 as part of the 2021 Vertigo Collection.

It originally released during the CS:GO era, before Valve's Counter-Strike 2 relaunch in September 2023 — its artwork, wear range, and source carried over unchanged into CS2.

It launched as an Industrial Grade finish, with a Souvenir edition but no StatTrak™ version.

As a finish, "Mechanism" is applied to the UMP-45 — a slower-firing but more accurate submachine gun option — and carries the light blue rarity color every Industrial Grade skin shares on the Steam Market and in-game.
