In-Depth Guide

Nova | Rising Sun: The Complete Guide

Complete Nova | Rising Sun CS2 skin guide — explore its history, design, rarity, float range, collection, and availability.

History & Origin

Nova | Rising Sun released February 4, 2025 as part of the Fever Case.

It's a Counter-Strike 2-native release, launched after Valve's September 2023 relaunch, with no CS:GO history of its own.

It launched as a Restricted-tier finish, with both a StatTrak™ and a Souvenir edition.

Design & Finish

As a finish, "Rising Sun" is applied to the Nova — a pump-action shotgun available to both sides, a step up from the pistols at close range — and carries the purple rarity color every Restricted-tier skin shares on the Steam Market and in-game.

That Restricted classification places it in the middle of the rarity ladder — rarer than Mil-Spec Grade, but short of the Classified and Covert tiers above it.

Wear & Float

Nova | Rising Sun ships in all five wear conditions, from Factory New through Battle-Scarred, across the full 0.00–1.00 float range.

As with every CS2 skin, lower float values look cleaner: Factory New copies (roughly below 0.07 float) show the finish at its sharpest, while Field-Tested and Well-Worn pieces make up the most commonly traded middle ground between mint and heavily worn.

Availability & Drop Mechanics

Nova | Rising Sun comes from the Fever Case — the Case itself is Armory-exclusive, redeemed with Armory Pass stars rather than a direct weekly drop.

Valve's own published Case odds put a Restricted-tier pull like this one at roughly 1 in 31 (3.1960%).

Versions & Variants

There's both a StatTrak™ and a Souvenir edition of this finish, alongside the Normal version — three ways to own the same look, differing only in that badge.

Beyond that, there's no separate "phase" or pattern family tied to this finish in the site's data — it's tracked as a single fixed look across every wear condition it ships in.

Popularity & Community

As a Restricted-tier finish, Nova | Rising Sun sits among the more common pulls from the Fever Case rather than being a chase item — a straightforward, affordable way to add a Nova skin to a loadout or collection.

Its StatTrak™ and Souvenir editions tend to trade at a premium over the Normal version, the same pattern seen across most CS2 skins with that variant available.

Updates & Changes

Nova | Rising Sun has been part of the Fever Case since February 4, 2025 — a Counter-Strike 2-native release with no CS:GO-era version to compare it to.

Trivia & Related Information

It's one of 5 Restricted-tier items in the Fever Case, out of 17 items total.

This is one of 47 Nova skins currently listed on the site, spanning multiple rarity tiers.
