M4A1-S | Printstream released December 3, 2020 as part of the Operation Broken Fang Case.

It originally released during the CS:GO era, before Valve's Counter-Strike 2 relaunch in September 2023 — its artwork, wear range, and source carried over unchanged into CS2.

It launched as a Covert-tier finish, with both a StatTrak™ and a Souvenir edition.

As a finish, "Printstream" is applied to the M4A1-S — the Counter-Terrorists' suppressed carbine, trading magazine size for reduced recoil and a quieter shot — and carries the red rarity color every Covert-tier skin shares on the Steam Market and in-game.

That Covert classification places it among the rarest tier a regular CS2 skin can reach — only Extraordinary knife and glove finishes rank above it.
