Desert Eagle | Code Red released August 1, 2018 as part of the Horizon Case.

It originally released during the CS:GO era, before Valve's Counter-Strike 2 relaunch in September 2023 — its artwork, wear range, and source carried over unchanged into CS2.

It launched as a Covert-tier finish, with both a StatTrak™ and a Souvenir edition.

As a finish, "Code Red" is applied to the Desert Eagle — Counter-Strike's iconic hand cannon, hitting hard per shot but punishing sprayed follow-ups with heavy recoil — and carries the red rarity color every Covert-tier skin shares on the Steam Market and in-game.
