NAVI vs. Legacy at EWC 2026:Can Legacy Strike Again?
Natus Vincere and Legacy meet once again at EWC 2026, continuing a matchup that has already produced two very different results this year. With one win each in their previous meetings, the next chapter could settle which team truly has the upper hand.

Legacy won 2-0
13-9 on Inferno, then a dominant 13-2 on Ancient. Legacy strike again — Atlanta wasn't a one-off.
NAVI and Legacy face each other in the Round of 16 at the Esports World Cup 2026 on August 20. The best-of-three brings together two teams that already know each other well, having traded victories earlier this year.
Legacy won the first meeting at IEM Atlanta, taking the series 2-1. NAVI responded when the teams met again at the IEM Cologne Major, claiming a 2-0 victory. Their EWC meeting now gives both sides another chance to take the lead in the head-to-head.

One Win Each — Now Comes the Decider
The first two meetings between NAVI and Legacy could hardly have been more different — a narrow Legacy upset, followed by a clean NAVI response. Both results are on the board, and neither side can point to a longer track record over the other.
Now, NAVI and Legacy meet a third time with another opportunity to take control of the rivalry — and more than just the head-to-head is on the line. The winner advances to face whoever comes out of Falcons vs. The MongolZ, another Round of 16 clash on the same side of the bracket.
Legacy Have Already Shown What They Are Capable Of
Legacy's victory over NAVI was not simply a fortunate result.
The Brazilian side have spent the year proving they can challenge teams above them, and their ability to produce unexpected results has made them one of the more dangerous opponents in an open bracket.
Reaching this match wasn't easy, either. After opening with a win over Ninjas in Pyjamas, Legacy dropped their next series to FaZe Clan and had to win a lower-bracket decider against MIBR just to keep their EWC run alive.
Their win at the CS Asia Championships — a comeback from a Nuke blowout to beat Falcons 3-1 in the final — was the clearest example yet of what this lineup can do when everything comes together. Legacy may not enter every match as the expected winner, but their results this year show that expectations alone don't decide the outcome.
Legacy do not need to wonder whether they can beat this opponent. They have already done it once. The bigger question is whether they can do it again.
NAVI Can Take Control of the Rivalry
NAVI arrive at this match off a clean run through their own group — a win over 3DMAX to open, then a 2-1 series win over The MongolZ that sent them straight into the playoffs without needing a decider.
For NAVI, this matchup is a chance to turn a balanced head-to-head into something more convincing. A repeat of their Cologne result would give them back-to-back wins over Legacy and establish a clear edge in the rivalry.
But Legacy's win in Atlanta means NAVI can't lean on that Cologne result alone. Both teams have already beaten the other once, and neither enters this series with a psychological edge.
Can Legacy Strike Again?
Legacy have already written one upset into this rivalry. NAVI answered with one of their own. Now comes the third meeting.
A victory for Legacy would prove Atlanta was no one-off. A NAVI win would give them back-to-back victories over the Brazilian side and shift the momentum firmly in their direction.
Either way, the next chapter adds another result to a matchup that has already been far more competitive than the names alone might suggest.
