Shadow Daggers | Rust Coat

Shadow Daggers | Rust Coat released September 14, 2017 as part of the Spectrum 2 Case.

It originally released during the CS:GO era, before Valve's Counter-Strike 2 relaunch in September 2023 — its artwork, wear range, and source carried over unchanged into CS2.

It launched as an Extraordinary-tier finish, with a StatTrak™ edition but no Souvenir version.

This exact finish is also obtained through Spectrum Case.

As a finish, "Rust Coat" is applied to the Shadow Daggers — a pair of dual daggers wielded one in each hand, visually distinct from every other single-bladed knife in the game — and carries the red rarity color every Extraordinary-tier skin shares on the Steam Market and in-game.

That Extraordinary classification places it in CS2's rarest tier overall — the same bracket every knife and glove finish occupies, one step above even Covert weapon skins.

Shadow Daggers | Rust Coat only ships in 2 of the five wear conditions (Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred) — there's no Factory New or Minimal Wear or Field-Tested release for this finish.

As with every CS2 skin, lower float values look cleaner: Factory New copies (roughly below 0.07 float) show the finish at its sharpest, while Field-Tested and Well-Worn pieces make up the most commonly traded middle ground between mint and heavily worn.

Shadow Daggers | Rust Coat comes from the Spectrum 2 Case — the Case is no longer part of the active drop pool, so trading and the Steam Community Market are the ways to acquire it today.

Valve's own published Case odds put an Extraordinary-tier pull like this one at roughly 1 in 11538 (0.0087%).

Alongside the Normal version, this finish also has a StatTrak™ edition that tracks confirmed kills — there's no Souvenir version.

Beyond that, there's no separate "phase" or pattern family tied to this finish in the site's data — it's tracked as a single fixed look across every wear condition it ships in.

Extraordinary-tier pulls like this one are inherently the rarest outcome of opening the Cases that contain them, which alone keeps demand — and market prices — meaningfully higher than the tiers below it.

Its StatTrak™ edition tends to trade at a premium over the Normal version, the same pattern seen across most CS2 skins with that variant available.

Shadow Daggers | Rust Coat has been part of the Spectrum 2 Case since September 14, 2017, and like every CS:GO-era CS2 skin, carried over unchanged when Valve relaunched the game on the Source 2 engine in 2023 — the artwork, wear range, and source Case/Collection are the same today as they were before the migration.

This finish is one of 30 distinct Extraordinary finishes in the Spectrum 2 Case's rare-special drop pool.

This is one of 35 Shadow Daggers skins currently listed on the site, spanning multiple rarity tiers.
